Driving Records / Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
An MVR reveals an individual’s driving history, which includes license validity, suspensions, restrictions, vehicle violations, accidents, and drug- and/or alcohol-related driving offenses.
Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP)
Provided by the Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), PSP offers a nationwide view of a driver’s safety history. It can only be requested for pre-employment screening with a driver’s consent. It includes five years of crash data and three years of roadside inspection data from the FMCSA’s Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS). PSP is recommended for all commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) and driver’s licenses (DLs) held in the past five years. Data reflects a snapshot in time based on the most recent PSP system update.
Commercial Driver’s License Information System (CDLIS)
The CDLIS is a national database of commercial driver’s license numbers. CDLIS results include current and up to three previous CDLs for states where one has been issued for the candidate. In addition to current CDL verification, the CDLIS provides information needed to conduct further, comprehensive searches of a candidate’s driving history (see CDLIS Complete).
CDLIS Complete
This search automatically orders MVRs for states where a commercial driver’s license is found. Built-in logic reduces duplicates by matching license numbers and states already in the order. Results are returned in a clear, consolidated report.
