The race is on in transportation. Not on the road, of course, but in the trucking industry’s human resources and recruiting departments. Logistics providers are working hard to slow turnover while striving to bring on new drivers fast enough to fill any open seat in time for the next load.
Changes in the economy and customer demand have only made the recruitment-vs-turnover battle harder. Some transportation companies were forced to lay off employees and temporarily downsize owner-operator relationships. Now many need to rapidly staff back up as the economy reopens. And they’re doing it against heightened competition from Amazon and other enterprises seeking drivers across the country.
If you need unique ideas to stand out in a crowded transportation recruitment field, we’ve got them in our June webinar Keep on Trucking: Preparing for the New Normal. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, Jun 30th at 12 PM EST, and it’s absolutely free to register and participate.
For this event, we were fortunate to book two experienced transportation leaders: Chad Hendricks is host of the Recruit & Retain podcast and President of Brand Outcomes, Inc. Nick Wakefield is USA Truck’s Vice President of Human Resources. And they are both experts at filling trucking jobs and retaining a transportation workforce.
In this session, they plan to discuss:
- Marketing to CDL drivers—including several new techniques you may not have thought of
- Finding the right recruitment resources in the current environment
- Upgrading a referral program to generate more promising leads
- Dealing with driver health and mental health to keep great talent ready to drive
At a time when even one new strategy could tip the balance between recruitment and turnover, it’s worth taking your lunch break with Keep on Trucking live on Tuesday. As always, the webinar will include plentiful Q&A time so you can pick the brains of our two guests for the ideas and answers you need most.
So register now. When you do, you’ll receive Asurint’s whitepaper Negligent Hiring in the Trucking Industry to help you understand this increasingly litigious topic, and we’ll put you in line to get your copy of the webinar recording as soon as it’s available. Share both with your peers!
